About Torin

I work with individuals and couples, online and in person by arrangement. My aim is that therapy feels safe, unhurried and free of judgement — and that you leave each session with something usable.
How the work proceeds
Most people begin with Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — a practical, strengths-based approach that starts from what is already working for you, and builds on it to address what is in front of you now. For a good number of people, that is enough.
Where more is needed, the work deepens rather than restarting. That might mean Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, working in a structured way on thought patterns and the coping strategies built around them — or psychodynamic therapy, which takes more time and looks at what sits underneath: earlier experience, and the way it shapes the present.
Which of these we use is a decision we make together, and it can change as the work does.
Areas of focus
- Trauma — including EMDR, a structured approach to processing distressing memories
- Depression and anxiety
- Couples work — communication, conflict, and repairing connection
- Compulsive behaviours — working with the trauma and emotional regulation underneath them
- Adult children of narcissistic parents — individually and in groups
Training and background
I trained in Canada, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario, registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Alongside the work I offer here, I continue to see a small number of clients in Canada. I am also currently training towards CSAT certification, which informs my work with compulsive behaviours.
